Dijun Way YoungN Deadly

| Change Em Ways | On Country Camps & Activities |

This primary prevention program for young people aged 12-18 years aims to provide an educational journey focused on promoting awareness of family domestic violence. The program consists of six modules that cover important topics such as dating, relationships, masculinity, sex and consent, emotions, and role modeling. By engaging with these modules, participants will gain valuable knowledge and skills that help them to navigate healthy relationships, understand the importance of consent, explore dynamics of emotions, and become positive role models in their communities. The program seeks to empower young people by equipping them with the tools and understanding necessary to prevent family domestic violence and promote a culture of respect, equality, and safety.

The program timing & activities will be adapted to the specific needs and dynamics of the groups. Flexibility, engagement and creating a safe space and inclusive environment are essential to ensure the success of this program.

Dijun Way will undertake the task of designing and delivering radio and social media messages, specifically targeting the engagement of young individuals and the promotion of family safety throughout the program.

The Dijun Way motto ‘Together, “We Can Stop It At The Start”!’ and #YOUNGNDEADLY are incorporated into the logo which was designed by our Youth Services Team Leader Kevin McKenzie.

  • The circle represents unity.
  • Two halves in the background represent both sides of the brain; changing the way youth think about family domestic violence, as well as two sides of a relationship.
  • Green hands represent youth, growth, and fertility.
  • Purple is the colour of FDV awareness.
  • Six circles represent the six modules of the program: Dating, Relationships, Masculinity, Sex & Consent, Emotions and Role Modelling.
