“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen”

We would like to say a huge thank you to one of our deadly Peer Educators Zeke McKenzie for all your hard work and dedication over seven years delivering the valuable Alive & Kicking Goals! (AKG!) program to youth across the Kimberley.

Zeke’s journey with the AKG! team outlines exactly what we aim to do, starting as a volunteer and working his way up to becoming a coordinator. We have seen him grow from strength to strength into an inspiring young leader and role model for our community.

The youth suicide prevention space is a difficult space to work in especially with past traumas and lived experience. It’s a space where you must continue to let your passion drive you and constantly reflect on your ‘why’ which you’ve done while living up to our values: Community, Positivity, Growth, and Resilience.

We’re sad to lose Zeke but also proud that he has decided to chase his dreams while the time is still right. We highly commend and appreciate Zeke’s commitment and wish him all the best for the future.

Keep smashing it Zeke!
