On Wednesday 11th August, MOSAC held a celebration of Strong Men, Strong Families, Strong Communities on the lawn area of the Fitzroy Crossing Visitor Centre. It was a community event with live music and a delicious meal. We were Welcomed to Country by Mrs Mary Aiken and Mr Joe Brown spoke of the importance of healthy families and relationships. Our Change Em Ways team who will be working alongside the people of Fitzroy Crossing to reduce the incidence of family domestic violence were introduced by Emily Carter from Marninwarntikura Women’s Resource Centre. Around 300 residents came to meet the team, who will be regularly visiting the Valley, and enjoyed fabulous music by Danny Marr, Patrick Davies, David Pigram and our very own MOS-B Deadly. Special mention to Jarrah Phillips who was the MC for the evening and Chris and Sally from GoGo Station who donated the killer (beef for the BBQ).
